LIFE ...as I know it
Hey there, welcome to my blog.
I thought I would take this opportunity to officially introduce myself and my family.
Some of you may already know me and my family, but for those who don't here's a little bit about me.
I grew up on a cereal farm in the Mallee, 42 kms west from Swan Hill with my Dad, Mum, Little Sister and my Little Brother. Farm life was great, there was never a dull moment. Wether it was helping bottle feed the 10 or so orphan lambs at a time, helping Dad with the tractor driving or popping a saddle on the pet calves and having a ride. We still love visiting Mum and Dad on the farm today.
I went to primary school at a little country town called Ultima which had less than 100 students in total. Then I progressed to Swan Hill Secondary College in 1993. This is where I met so many of my very close friends (you all know who you are) and first met my soul mate and one true love, Ryan at the age of 14.
After high school I had a decision to make, to either peruse a career in beauty therapy in Melbourne or nursing in Ballarat. I chose nursing and didn't look back. However this meant my high school sweetheart and I went separate ways as he was going to study civil engineering in Melbourne.
I well and truly lived up to the University life whilst studying nursing for 3 years, living off what felt like a few dollars a week, but somehow always found the money to enjoy the night life with friends.
I graduated in 2001 and made the big move to Melbourne to work at the Austin Hospital where I undertook my Grad year. My high school sweetheart and I rekindled our relationship in my last year of uni, so it made perfect sense to move in together in Melbourne as he was in his last year of civil engineering.
Living in Melbourne was something else, shops open all night with so many to choose from, catching up with friends at all of the hot spots in town to eat, drink and party and opening my eyes living and learning all of the other beautiful cultures in the world.
In 2002 Ryan had graduated and scored a civil engineering position in country Victoria... Shepparton. So off we went, not knowing anyone in town. Since then with the help from some sporting clubs we have made some amazing life long friends. I started work at GV Health in the Surgical Ward where I worked hard hours for 7 long years. That was until I was introduced to the beauty of community nursing, ever since I have enjoyed working at District Nursing and Hospital in the Home.
After an 18 month engagement I married my high school sweet heart, deb partner, soul mate and best friend- Ryan on 28th of October 2005.
We purchased our first home in Shepparton and spent 3 years extending and renovating it, I lived without an oven for 12 months and cooked EVERYTHING on the BBQ, even a batch of scones and the odd cake. We lived out of the big tartan bags as we moved them from room to room as we renovated each room separately in stages. I can't really say that I would like to live that experience again.
Life back then was simple and relaxed.... that was until these two beautiful little creatures rocked our world!
On Monday December 14 at 10:20pm and 10:23pm our handsome little man and beautiful little princess arrived quite quickly. Life as we knew it......was now GONE! Despite the long nights, endless dirty nappies, no sign at all of a thing called a social life and the constant crying, we wouldn't have it any other way! Each day our two beautiful children bring us so much love, joy and happiness, along with many other things which I will fail to mention. Life is good!
Since the birth of Lachlan and Morgan, needless to say the other member of our family- Bronson, has felt a little neglected and left out, with limited time for walks and quality time. However, the kids have grown up with him and now they are all the best of friends.
Twenty Tiny Toes was created and inspired by Lachie & Morgan, hence the name. I grew up with my Mum always having some craft project on the go and I have always loved creating handmade products for friends and family. It actually just started out as being some 'ME' time but then with it's success it just made sense to expand on the thing that I am very passionate about and I love doing. I only need to decide now what Twenty Tiny Toes products to concentrate on making in the future as my range is currently quite large and needs to change for improved products, customer satisfaction and service. I would love to know what your favorite Twenty Tiny Toes products are.
